The summaries below provide an overview of the results of Mass HIway attestations from prior years. This represents the progress made by Massachusetts healthcare organizations in meeting the Mass HIway Regulations.
Summary of 2020 Attestations
Nearly 500 organizations submitted attestation or exception forms during the 2020 attestation period. Small Community Health Centers were in year two of the Connection Requirement cycle, Medium/Large Ambulatory Practices and Large Community Health Centers were in year three, and Acute Care Hospitals were in year four.

Summary of 2019 Attestations
Nearly 600 organizations attested during the 2019 attestation period. It was the first year that Small Community Health Centers attested. It was year two for Medium and Large Ambulatory Practices and Large Community Health Centers and year three for Acute Care Hospitals. All use cases submitted in 2019 were provider-to-provider communications that were sent and/or received over the Mass HIway.

Summary of 2018 Attestations
546 organizations attested during the 2018 attestation period. It was the first year that Medium and Large Ambulatory Practices and Large Community Health Centers attested. It was year two for Acute Care Hospitals. Use cases submitted in 2018 mostly consisted of provider-to-provider and public-health-reporting communications that were sent and/or received over the Mass HIway.
